Tempered Glass or Plastic Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Tempered Glass or Plastic Tempered Glass Screen Protector
I always prefer tempered glass screen protector for my smartphone which protect it from scratches and screen broken. There are some benefits of Tempered glass than ordinary screen guard: Tempered glass is made by controlled chemical and thermal treatments to increase its strength. The glass is first first heated and then rapidly cooled with help of blowers. One surface gets cooled much faster thus putting it in compression and the other surface in tension. This difference makes the glass 5 to 10 times more stronger than it was in the first place. All the technical jargon apart, you can buy one for all popular smartphones from all leading online stores for a nominal charge.
Toughness: Tempered glass is almost always sturdier than plastic at the same price. Plastic protectors—especially the cheap models—also get scratched easily, unlike glass ones. Glass protectors are generally around 0.3-0.5 mm in thickness; plastic is around 0.1mm.
Feel: Most smartphones today have Gorilla Glass or some other scratch-resistant screen. When you add a plastic protector, you can feel the difference when you use your phone; especially in terms of how smoothly your finger glides. Tempered glass protectors feel more like the original screen.
Look: Because of their thickness, tempered glass screen protector will bulge out a bit more than plastic. This is especially noticeable on devices like the iPhone 5 or the HTC One. The protector is slightly raised from the flush finish of the sides, which can be an aesthetic issue for some. On the iPhone, this also means your Home button is recessed more than you’re used to. I know 0.5mm seems like a small number, but you can feel the difference.
Outdoor Visibility: Be it glossy or matte finish scratch guard, it noticeably affects outdoor visibility of your device. Tempered glass on the other hand won’t augment glare of any sort if installed properly. Matte finish screen protectors work better outdoors as compared to glossy ones, but Tempered glass is still better in this regard.
A tempered glass screen protector for your mobile guarantees protection from shattering your mobile touch screen and display screen 98% of the time. Whereas for general plastic screen guard it is only 5% and this is the reason for many brand new high end smart phones there does not even exists plastic screens.
Tempered glass screen protector are best to ensure protection from scratches, accident droppings, hits from sharp objects and the like. You don’t want to lose your mobile touch or display as there is just a small price difference between tempered and platic guards.
Choose wisely! From my experience you should not pay more than 300 rs for a tempered glass as there are enough good quality tempered glass available in market in the range of 200 to 300 rs depending upon the smartphone model or even how old is the smartphone since it first appeared in the marker with older one having less price for many reasons. As for Plastic screen guards the price may be any where between 70 rs to 150 rs. You can also shop on amazon, which can get you pretty good deals. There are many good brands out there that you can purchase online. Like BodyGuardz, High,Pixel Cube, GoGlass and so on.
Some point that you need to consider while buying tempered glass screen protector is thickness of glass, 2d(edges are sharp and prone to breaking) or 2.5d(edges are smoothened and less prone to breakage), anti oil, Eye protection and hardness level (preferably 9H). One more important thing is the coverage area of the glass. Your glass should cover your mobile screen atleast 99%. Many glasses in the market have cut outs around the camera or the speaker side which extends up to the peripherals like a U shape. Don’t buy those as they tend to get more dirt. Prefer the glasses that are clearly cut out aroung the camera, speaker and sensor portion with perfect holes making no U shapes.
It is always suggested to use tempered glass screen guards. They are tough, smooth and easy to apply. Plastic screen guard are less sturdy than tempered glass screen protector. Tempered glass give rich looks to the phone along with high protection. The tempered glass gives protection from oil, dirt and is water repellent. This saves your phone from accidental oil or water spills. It is shatter proof i.e when you drop your phone, the tempered glass would not be shattered into pieces and also protect your phone from shattering.
It is very tough than you would have imagined. It gives smooth feel to your phone when you glide your fingers. Skin4gadgets tempered glass screen protector is easy to apply and it leaves no bubble when applied. It fits the phone design perfectly and is cut out meticulously. Good quality tempered glass would give you HD quality. And one of the best feature is it is scratch proof.
